Minister, may Allah safeguard them. The noticeable improvement in the Kingdom›s
ranking in various international indicators related to human rights is evident, and it
reflects the Kingdom’s keenness and interest in enhancing the rights of all individuals
living on its land, whether citizens or residents, without discrimination. The Kingdom
is committed to creating a safe environment that ensures a decent life, in line with the
Saudi Vision 2030, which includes programs in various areas of human rights such as the
right to life, security, health, education, employment, family protection, and women›s
empowerment to be essential partners in development. This contributes to enhancing
women›s rights and activating their role in the national economy, which has witnessed
significant leaps. Additionally, reforms have been achieved in the protection of the rights
of children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities, combating human trafficking
crimes, and developing specialized legislative systems. All of this reflects the Kingdom’s
care, attention, and protection of human rights, which has strengthened its regional and
international standing in this field.
Furthermore, the human and social values embodied by Saudi society serve as a
nurturing and enabling environment for human rights, stemming from the culture of its
individuals, their love for peace and goodness, and their adherence to the principles of
Islamic law. Human rights were not alien to or imposed upon society, but rather ingrained
in its culture. Since its unification by the late King Abdulaziz, and through the reigns of
his successors, up to the present blessed era, the Kingdom has consistently strengthened
these Islamic and societal values. It has also established robust and protective regulatory
frameworks that enhance human rights through laws, legislation, and policies that ensure
a dignified life for individuals and promote their rights.
Observers of human rights affairs in the Kingdom can witness a dynamic human rights
movement and a steadfast commitment from the highest authorities in the Kingdom,
resulting in positive changes that the government has strived to achieve in order to
provide further guarantees for the preservation of human rights.
